Machine setup

When stamp engraving, we recommend a lens with a short focal length.
Generally, a 1.5” lens is used.
Use the nozzle with the small hole diameter. To ensure the best possible result when processing with a Speedy 100 laser engraver, adjust the nozzle to the focal height.

We suggest processing stamp rubber on a cutting table:

  • Up to Speedy 300 on a honeycomb cutting table
  • From Speedy 360 on a grid cutting table

software setup for laser engraving stamp rubber
Software setup
  • Use a process resolution of 500-1000 dpi
  • The best imprint quality is achieved at 1000 dpi
By optimally adjusting the engraving speed and engraving depth, the engraving time at 1000 dpi is only a fraction longer than at 500 dpi. The speed can be up to 35% higher than at 500 dpi due to the higher resolution and the resulting removal of material.
  • To avoid unintentional stamping of the stamp base, use the “optimized cut line” function. This removes surplus areas and ensures the quality of the imprint.
  • Ensure that the engraving direction is set from top to bottom
  • The "Links” option is suitable for stamp engraving. The individual text plates are cut, except for small links, and kept for removal, cleaning, and subsequent assignment during assembly in the whole rubber stamp plate.

Take advantage of our tips to make the best possible use of our JobControl® software for stamp engraving.

engraving parameters laser rubber
Parameter setup

Engraving

  • For a stamp rubber of 1.5 mm, an engraving depth of up to 0.8 mm is recommended.
  • For a 2.3 mm thick stamp rubber, the parameters should be set so that the rubber is worn by at least 0.9 mm. To get a high-quality imprint, we recommend an engraving depth of 1.2 mm.
  • The Air Assist must be switched on during the entire laser process.

Cutting

Use a cutting frequency of 1000 Hz.

Cleaning
  • Vacuum off any dust
  • The remaining dirt can be cleaned with water and a brush (toothbrush or hand brush)
  • Tip: First, clean the engraved plate and then remove the individual text plates
  • If an ultrasonic cleaning device is available, you can use this to clean the stamp rubber
